So I was watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail the other day (got it for my birthday; watched the director's commentaries. Great movie) and I couldn't help but notice that King Arthur and Sir Bedivere, the first knight Arthur recruits, had a special relationship that none of the other knights shared with Arthur. The first knight to join Arthur, and the last to accompany him as they confront the Castle Aargh, Bedivere stays with Arthur through thick and thin.
When King Arthur first encounters Bedivere, Bedivere is helping settle the witch dispute, and with the simple line, "A duck.", the bromance is born. Even as the knights of the round table go their seperate ways in search of the Holy Grail, Arthur and Bedivere stick together. It's really an interesting dynamic, with Sir Bedivere and his "wisdom" and Arthur's own common sense making for some humorous dialogue. Bedivere is my personal favorite character and the way he and Arthur play off of each other is one of the best parts of the movie.
